Located
in the heart of Mundaring, the Park underwent a major redevelopment in 2016.
The redevelopment was supported by Lotterywest and the Department of Parks and Wildlife and incorporates a playzone where children will be able to enjoy a range of new equipment and a nature play area. One of the key attractions is the Ornate Crevice Dragon located in the sandpit, where children can dig for her eggs and insects.
There is also the boardwalk tunnel onto the equipment and rocks to climb. With ramps, soft fall and many accessible equipment pieces, this is an inclusive playground for the whole community.
Shaded
areas are also available, with free gas BBQs, picnic tables,
public toilets, information boards and a series of
specially commissioned sculptural works featuring some of Western Australia’s
best known artists.
The
small amphitheatre adjacent to the Park can be used for community events, summer concerts or as a
meeting place.
The Railway Reserves Heritage Trail passes through the park, which is also the start of the 1000km Munda Biddi Trail.
