At
the base of the Mundaring Weir, the No 1 Pump Station provides visitors with
information about the world’s longest freshwater pipeline. The
Golden Pipeline is 560km in length.
On
average, 90 million litres of water are pumped through the pipeline each day, in
an engineering feat that has continued uninterrupted since 1903.
There
was much controversy surrounding the building of the pipeline, which visitors
can read more about in the museum.
Museum
is CLOSED throughout February every year, re-opens first Saturday in March from12
noon-4pm.
