​Located 45km from Perth, the Forsyths Mill Mountain Bike Track is a single track mountain bike trail. It is maintained by Department of Parks and Wildlife, providing a great place for both professionals and beginners.

​The National Trust invites you to explore the great outdoors on Perths doorstep, and learn about CY O'Connor's pipeline at the same time. Ride, cycle or walk the 75km Kep Track, or sections of it, from Mundaring Weir to Northam.

​Walk or cycle 3km around the Lake perimeter to view a range of native trees like marri and wandoo, together with an abundance of bird life including ducks, geese, herons and swamp hens.

Starting from Sculpture Park in Mundaring, the Munda Biddi Trail stretches over 1000 kilometres to Albany on the south coast of Western Australia. There are purpose-built campsites along the Trail to accommodate cyclists.

​Located one hour from Perth, Paruna Wildlife Sanctuary is open for bushwalking from April to October. Paruna is one of a number of sanctuaries managed by the Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC)  for the protection of native wildlife and their habitats.

​The John Forrest National Park was established as an A Class Reserve in 1898 and the park is home to two waterfalls that flow in winter and spring – Hovea and National Park Falls.

The Golden View Lookout is a small quiet picnic area located south of the Mundaring Weir, providing amazing panoramic views over Lake CY O’Connor, the Mundaring Weir and the Helena River Valley.

​The Mundaring and Hills Historical Society (MHHS) has operated the Mundaring District Museum since 1997. It is co-located with the Mundaring Visitor Centre in the old Mundaring School building.

​The Wine Dungeon is located within the grounds of Noble Falls Estate, Gidgegannup. It offers you the opportunity to sample the range of Estate-grown wines before enjoying a delicious meal at the Wild Goose, overlooking the large lawn and lake.

On 17 August 1914, just 12 days after war was declared, the first volunteers arrived at the newly formed Blackboy Hill training camp located in Greenmount. This was the birthplace of the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in WA and over 32,000 men passed through the camp before heading off to war.

​Swan View Tunnel, located in John Forrest National Park, was built in 1895 and is the earliest railway tunnel in West Australian's history.  Charles Yelverton O'Connor designed the 340m Swan View Tunnel to overcome a granite barrier formed by a fold in the Darling Range.
