The Katharine Susannah Prichard Writers' Centre is the oldest writers' centre of its kind in Australia.  The Centre is located in Greenmount, in the former home of Katharine Susannah Prichard, author of Coonardoo, Working Bullocks and The Goldfields Trilogy

The Centre encourages and facilitates writers' readings, workshops, writers in residence and other services, all designed to help and encourage writers at all levels of the craft.  A unique feature is its location in the nationally heritage listed home of Katharine Susannah Prichard, one of Australia's most gifted writers, and of Hugo Throssell a VC from the Australian Light Horse at Gallipoli.

At KSP, we offer an exciting Young Writers' program, Skills Workshops, Literary Dinners and Author Talks for the public, Open Days, book sales at Shire festivals and Historical tours.  KSP has a sound recording program and runs the national Write-a-Book-in-a-Day for teams writing books and raising money for children's hospitals.  Everyone is welcome to join our activities.

The ambience of the Centre is excellent for creativity and inspiration.  20-60,000 words are frequently achieved by our Writers in Residence in a four week stay, in between enjoying the interaction with local writers.
